Logical Fallacies

The following is an excerpt from our article titled, “Renew your Mind with the Unity Process & the Trivium“, found at our site, the Unity Process:

According to Wikipedia, a logical fallacy means “a flaw in the structure of a deductive argument which renders the argument invalid.” Unfortunately though, they left an aspect out, as the word fallacy is derived from the Latin word fallere, which means to deceive, therefore a logical fallacy can also be deceptive logic meant to lead people astray. Wikipedia alone lists 130+ variations and types of logical fallacies that can be employed to deceive and manipulate people, consciously or unconsciously.

With so many logical fallacies used against us every day, via our governments, media, commercials, companies, salesmen, schools, religions, and more, it is imperative to upgrade our logical thinking skills, which acts as a type of virus protection and firewall against deception. The Trivium, which comprises three of the seven liberal arts, is the best virus scanner available for protecting our minds.
