Letting go is not positive thinking, which is an emotional or spiritual escapism to avoid painful feelings and situations. Letting go is the ability to face your painful feelings and situations head on, to become intimate with them, and to understand them fully; it neutralizes the painful charge associated with the negative feelings and situations. Letting go doesn’t embrace the positive to avoid the negative, it embraces and reconciles both to experience a life of neutrality, balance, and harmony. Letting go comes through understanding your Self.
